I have been reporting on Africa since 2009 - a wonderful task that has taken me to around 30 countries on the continent. An extensive network of local journalists, which I have built up over the years, helps me with this. My main client is the WELT Group, but I also report regularly for NZZ in Switzerland and other media. From time to time, I take part in discussion events as a speaker, including for GIZ, Care NGO and the BiTS University. Before my current job in Cape Town, South Africa, I was a staff member at WELT in Berlin, where I also studied at the Freie Universität und completed the Axel Springer Academy. On Sundays I check the soccer results of Wuppertaler SV (4th league) and 1. FC Köln (in good times 1st league)...
Countries in the African Region are experiencing an increasing rate of tobacco use.
